I am writing to request clarification regarding the surgical gloves procurement opportunity recently published under reference NP56925.

Specifically, I would appreciate it if you could provide the following information:

1. The estimated annual volume of surgical gloves required under this contract (ideally broken down by type and size if available).
2. Whether the contract value of £13 million is intended to cover a single year or multiple years.
3. The preferred packaging format (e.g., boxes of 50 pairs / 100 gloves).
4. Any forecast data or previous usage statistics available for reference.
5. Any additional documentation that may outline technical specifications or expected delivery schedules.

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 20 May 2025 requesting the following information.

I am writing to request clarification regarding the surgical gloves procurement opportunity recently published under reference NP56925.

Specifically, I would appreciate it if you could provide the following information:

1. The estimated annual volume of surgical gloves required under this contract (ideally broken down by type and size if available).

2. Whether the contract value of £13 million is intended to cover a single year or multiple years.

3. The preferred packaging format (e.g., boxes of 50 pairs / 100 gloves).

4. Any forecast data or previous usage statistics available for reference.

5. Any additional documentation that may outline technical specifications or expected delivery schedules.

We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

1. The estimated annual volume of surgical gloves required under this contract (ideally broken down by type and size if available).

Please find attached Appendix 1 – NP56925 Surgical Gloves, this provides the annual forecasted volume of surgical gloves.

2. Whether the contract value of £13 million is intended to cover a single year or multiple years.

The contract value of £13 million is intended to cover the full duration of the contract (three years plus two twelve-month extensions available).

3. The preferred packaging format (e.g., boxes of 50 pairs / 100 gloves).

There is no preferred packaging format. Suppliers can choose how they would like to package goods and include this within their tender submission.

4. Any forecast data or previous usage statistics available for reference.

Please find attached Appendix 1 – NP56925 Surgical Gloves, this provides the annual forecasted volume of surgical gloves.

5. Any additional documentation that may outline technical specifications or expected delivery schedules.

Technical specifications would adhere to European BS EN 455-3:2023 (Parts 1 to 4), ASTM D3577 Standards, EN ISO 10282 standards and CE Marking of Product Class IIa Medical Device (compliant to 93/42/EEC).

National Services Scotland (NSS) would work together with the supplier to implement their expected delivery schedules as per the tender submission.
