Technology Services, Supporting National Procurement with trusted data, robust digital tools and strategic technology leadership.

Technology Services enables National Procurement to deliver efficient, data driven and digitally supported services for NHSScotland. We provide the systems, insights and expertise that underpin modern procurement operations across the health service.

Who We Are

Technology Services is a multidisciplinary team within NHS National Services Scotland’s National Procurement portfolio. Our work spans digital content, data and analytics, project delivery and technology governance.

Our team includes:

• Project and programme managers delivering digital and procurement initiatives.
• Digital content and Microsoft 365 specialists supporting SharePoint, corporate web services and digital transformation.
• Data and analytics professionals who design, maintain and assure procurement reporting and intelligence products.
• Technical leads ensuring systems are secure, reliable and aligned with organisational standards. Together, we enhance digital experiences, improve access to data and ensure the technology supporting procurement is modern, high quality and resilient.

Data and Analytics

Our Data and Analytics function provides the evidence base that supports strategic, operational and financial decision making across NHSScotland. We develop and maintain reporting solutions, offer expert support for BusinessObjects (BOXI) users, and ensure all datasets are accurate, validated and aligned with business requirements. This enables procurement teams, health boards and government stakeholders to access timely and reliable information for monitoring activity, performance and trends.

Digital Content and Microsoft 365

The Digital and Content Transformation team provides specialist expertise across SharePoint, the corporate web estate and Microsoft 365. We design accessible and compliant digital content, improve site usability, and apply user centred and agile approaches to continuously strengthen the organisation’s digital environment.

Power BI Leadership

Technology Services leads the development of the NP Data and Intelligence Centre Power BI app — National Procurement’s next generation hub for analytics. This initiative will bring all dashboards and intelligence products into a single, trusted location, improving discoverability, consistency and insight driven decision making.

Programme and Project Delivery

Our project and programme managers play a key role in major transformation initiatives, including the NHS Scotland Business Services Programme and wider digital procurement modernisation. Through structured delivery and collaboration, we support improvements to processes, systems and user experience across the procurement landscape.

Technology Governance and Improvement

We maintain strong governance through workplans, review cycles and continuous improvement activities. This ensures our priorities remain aligned with organisational strategy and responsive to the evolving needs of NHSScotland.
